Overview
You cannot require candidates to complete screening questions before submitting their application. Applicants choose whether to finish that step, but WISE Recruiting Assistant (WRA) gives you tools to encourage completion and follow up with reminders.
Helpful note: A short line in your job ad, such as "Please complete the screening questions," sets clear expectations up front.

Automated reminders. Candidates who start but do not finish get email reminders to complete their application steps.

How to send a "please complete your application" reminder
Open your job's Applicants list.
Optionally, use filters to focus on people missing screening question answers.
Select the applicant or applicants you want to nudge. Use the top checkbox to select everyone in view if you want to send a bulk message.
Click the Email icon under the job title.
Choose Apply Template and select your "Complete Your Application" template.
Click Send Message. Your reminder goes out to everyone you selected.
Helpful note: Keep the reminder short, friendly, and specific, for example, "Hi Sam, please finish the couple of quick screening questions to move forward."

Can I block submissions until screening questions are complete?
No. Applicants control whether they complete screening questions. You can follow up with reminders.
Can I make screening questions required?
You can ask screening questions, but candidates can still submit without answering all of them. Use reminders and filters to manage follow-ups.
Will candidates know if they haven't finished?
Yes. Automated reminders help, and your manual follow-ups make expectations clear.
What if someone never completes the screening questions?
You can proceed without them, follow up again, or move them out of consideration based on your internal hiring policy.
