Overview
When creating a job posting in WISE Recruiting Assistant (WRA), one of the first steps is to choose a job title or category. It’s important to note, this is NOT the final title that applicants will see. This is a selection that helps inform WISE AI for screening questions and ad content suggestions. The actual title that appears on job boards will be decided on the following screen.
If you cannot find a comparable title in the dropdown menu. Here is how to use the Custom Job option to proceed and ensure your job ad is accurately categorized.
Using the Custom Job option
If you cannot find the exact job title or category in the dropdown menu during the job creation process:
Start with Custom Job.
Edit the job title.
Submit your ad.
Avoiding duplicate warnings
If you receive a duplicate warning due to a similar job title, check the following:
Make sure the job title and location are different enough from any other active or recently closed posting for the same role. Job boards can flag postings within about 35 miles of each other if they share the same title or benchmark.
Write the job description fresh rather than copying or lightly editing another posting. Job boards look for meaningfully different content, not just a different title.
Keep only one active posting per open role instead of running multiple versions of the same job at once.
If you are reposting a closed job, rewrite the title and content rather than reusing the original. Reposting the same content right after closing a job is more likely to trigger a flag.
Tips for success
Flexible titles. The Custom Job option lets you create a posting for any job title, even if it is not listed in the dropdown menu.
Job review. Our experts review your submission and assign it to the correct category so it reaches the right audience.
Unique content. Keep your job posting content original to avoid confusion or duplication during review.
Common Questions
I got the error "You already have a job of the same type within 35 miles." What do I do?
Select Custom Job to create a new posting with a unique title and a location far enough from your existing one, generally at least 35 miles. This resolves the proximity conflict without pulling down your original posting.
Will using Custom Job delay my job going live?
Not typically. We will still review and categorize the posting, the same as any other job ad.
Can I edit the title again after submitting a Custom Job?
Yes. You can edit the job post at any time after it is submitted.
