Overview
When you are creating, editing or refreshing a job post in WISE Recruiting Assistant (WRA), you may notice the Save and Publish button is grayed out and cannot be clicked.
In job creation or editing - something is likely missing from the post that is required to be show on job boards, like job location or compensation. Make sure all required fields (indicated by the red *) have been filled in prior to saving.
During job refresh - your job post has not yet reached the freshness level required to publish. Freshness measures how updated your job content is compared to its previous version, and job board partners require it to reach 100% before a post can go live or be republished.

The Save and Publish button stays disabled until your job post reaches 100% freshness.
Freshness drops over time as a job post ages, and it can also reset when you make edits that job boards consider too minor or unchanged.
Per current guidelines from our job board partners, every section of the job post needs to be refreshed when prompted. Updating only the highest-impact sections, like title and compensation, is no longer enough on its own to reach 100%.
How to reach 100% freshness
If you used a WRA template:
Open the job and click Refresh all from template to have WRA automatically generate refreshed content for each section.
Review the updated version and edit any section directly, including responsibilities and qualifications.
Use WISE to regenerate a section if you want additional help rewriting it.
If your freshness level is still below 100% after this, click Refresh all from template again.
If you used a non-templated post:
Click Refresh Job, then update your content section by section to improve freshness.
Reword each section rather than copying and pasting the same content. Copied text does not count toward freshness.
Use WISE to help rewrite sections if you get stuck.
Helpful note: Job boards weigh title and compensation most heavily, so start there, but plan to work through every section rather than stopping once those two are updated.
Publishing your update
Confirm your freshness score shows 100%.
Once it does, the Save and Publish button is no longer grayed out.
Click Save and Publish (or Refresh Job) to push your updated post back out to job boards.
Common Questions
Why is my Save & Publish button grayed out?
You’re missing a piece of required information, like compensation. Or your job post's freshness is below 100%. Refresh from the template or reword sections until the freshness indicator reaches 100%, and the button becomes available.
Do I have to rewrite the entire job post during a refresh?
Yes. Per current job board partner guidelines, each section needs to be refreshed when prompted. Updating only the title and compensation is not enough on its own to reach 100% freshness.
I refreshed from the template but freshness is still below 100%. What now?
Click Refresh all from template again. If freshness still does not reach 100%, reword sections of the job post directly instead of reusing the same content.

Freshness measures how updated your job post content is compared to its previous version. It affects both your visibility on job boards and whether you can publish new changes.
